Organizational Mandate

The Leduc-Nisku mandate has been crafted as a solution to the specific business challenges and needs of the region, and was the initial catalyst for the organization’s creation. Its mandate is to:

“To formulate and lead strategies for the sustainable development of economic wealth within Alberta's International and Alberta's Capital Region.”

At a more detailed level, the Leduc-Nisku EDA Board has defined the organization’s purpose by describing the desired outcomes and roles the organization plays. Essentially, the Leduc-Nisku EDA exists to:

  • Maintain and enhance the City of Leduc and Leduc County as a good place in which to live and do business.
  • Promote the development of a strong, diversified and sustainable base within the City of Leduc and Leduc County.
  • Create an international region through appropriate commercial and industrial growth.
  • Influence improvements to infrastructure, education and health systems.
  • Create a one-stop shop for business interests in the region.
  • Serve as a steward for smart growth and protecting the environment by managing development of valuable farmlands.
  • Achieve a good balance on Quality of Life improvements, including safety and security.
