Pat Klak brings over 35 years experience in business to the Leduc-Nisku Economic Development Authority (EDA) in her role as Executive Director. Pat’s background encompasses many years as a leader of community volunteers and as a partner in the family business.
Her zest for “life-long learning” has taken her through University of Alberta courses in business management, supervisory skills and team building, as well as the Canadian Management Professionals designation. Pat graduated from the University of Waterloo’s professional Economic Development Program in September 2000, adding another dimension to her skills as a business counselor and facilitator for eight municipalities.
In her sixteen years with the EDA, Pat has seen it evolve from a small office operation with two staff into an organization of seven full-time professional staff, two part-time staff, seven sector teams, more than 300 volunteers and 2,500 ambassadors. Pat is past-president of the Economic Developers Association of Alberta, a past director on the Economic Developers of Canada Board, a past member of the Board of Management of AEDA and Past-President of the Nisku-Leduc Rotary Club. In 2001, Pat was voted Economic Developer of the Year by the Economic Developers Association of Alberta and in 2005 received the President's Award from the Economic Developers Association of Alberta.
