The region is compiled of a wide range of dynamic industries that offer stability and substantial growth opportunities. Alberta's International Region offers a wide variety of education and learning experiences. Residents living in the region are given only the best opportunities at improving their education. Alberta's public school system has recently been recognized as one of the best in the world as demonstrated in a recent PISA International Assessment. Dozens of elementary and secondary schools provide education ranging from tiny-tots to high school. In addition, there are several impressive public libraries, workforce and employer learning opportunities, local training facilities, work experience programs and apprenticeship programs. There is also excellent access to Edmonton based post-secondary institutions including University of Alberta, Northern Alberta Institute of Technology and MacEwan College. This gives the region a highly skilled workforce and access to newly graduated students with up-to-date training in all sectors.
