The Technology/Communication sector is one of the fastest growing sectors of Alberta.  Technical breakthroughs are commonplace in this industry, and Alberta's International Region plans to challenge the established norms and provide exceptional products and services.  Included in this sector are companies involved in a wide range of technical operations, ranging from internet service providers and internet-related applications to virtual reality and data modeling.

"The Alberta Science and Research Authority estimates that by 2010, Alberta's information technology industry will employ over 140,000 people and generate more than $30 billion in annual revenues. In addition to Alberta's outstanding advantages, such as business costs and labour productivity, the province has extensive high-tech infrastructure, advanced Internet networks, numerous industry leaders, and education and research to support its growing telecommunications industry."
